Astonishing performance last night from the #23 Guard for Kentucky, Jodie Meeks.
The game took place Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at "The Summitt" Thompson-Boling Arena with the Tennessee Volunteers hosting the Kentucky Wildcats.
Jodie Meeks performance tonight will be forever mortalized, not once, but twice, in a history book belonging to the most winningest college basketball program ever. And with stats like this:
[FG 15/22] [3pt 10/15] [FT 14/14] [REB/8 AST/4 STL/1 TO/1]
Its not hard to see why.
The two records broke tonight were for most points scored in a game [54], and most 3pt shots made in a game [10].
- The previous record for most points scored in a game was [53] set by Dan Issel during the 1969-70 season against Ole Miss.
- The previous record for most 3pts made in a game was [9] originally set by Tony Delk during the 1995-96 season against TCU. It would later be matched by Jodie Meeks during his stellar 46 point game performance (12/20/2008) against Appalachian State while playing at Freedom Hall. *He would also go on to break the record for most points scored by a Wildcat inside Freedom Hall*
