You may have to go deep rural to find cheap land.

Look on Ebay, tax sales and talk to the farmers!

you should consider building a passive solar heater and a biogas/methane digester....you could eliminate your propane consumption

I have both of those and the plans for those are in my ebook and work well when used with another source but not in place of another source of fuel.

Solar air heaters only work when the sun shines and methane production is fickle and time consuming!

ive not tried methane digesters...but plan to try it....i ve build solar can type heaters...(id like your opinion of the one i posted on youtube)... that perform very well when the sun shines....im working on an idea to utilize attic heat too...but you are right they have to be used in combination with other sources of energy..

Man I'm happy for ya, but do you not have a planning group? Here I would have to pay 20 grand or more just to get all the legal crap sorted before laying a brick.
If ya don't have permission to build, they bulldoze it.
So much for freedom!!!!!
Who said your a slave to money then you die?
Good luck to ya, a man of little needs in my book is a happy man.

There is still many rural counties with few or no building codes. Look in TX,AZ,NM for land or go way back into rural farm country.

My property taxes are $150 a year with no house payments and no utility bills- life is great!
