From KETC, Living St. Louis Producer Ruth Ezell meets local scrimshaw artist, Michelle Ochonicky. Scrimshaw originated as the handiwork of whalers on ivory teeth, but today these intricate illustrations are made on deer antlers and polymers. Michelle was recently honored for her artistic ability in scrimshaw. She also heads the Missouri Artisan Association that works to promote art to young people.

  • Wood is a special canvas. Wood burning makes you feel like you hope it never ends. Great work by a great artist.
