aaaaaaaaaaaaactually depending on the way its deployed, you dont need to have a handle exponentially larger than the blade. using the switch method, yes you do. but using a gear rotating method that activates the DA OTF mech, which would lie either above the otf mech, or on the same level of the blade, , you could make the blade actually the same length of the handle or at least within a half hour. hope this helps-for example i am using this method to make a hidden blade that works both ways.
From what I understand about OTF knives the bigger you make the blade the handle must become a lot bigger. so say you have a 3 inch blade, you need say a 5 inch handle to store it. Though I don't exactly see why? And if there is no way around this how big would one have to be if it had an 8 inch blade?

@Mike0brien You don't see why? Dude where is that 8 inch blade going to hide ? :D You need at least a 9 inch handle, but the bigger the blade the longer the support / lockup area that stays in the handle when the blade is deployed. You don't want a 4 inch blade holding on a .250" piece of aluminium do You?

@syrianization I don't think it will get any better than this. Not everyone will understand - You have to have a bit of a technical mind for this. It's really not that complicated. Think of it as a Slingshot :) where the blade is the projectile only it's stopped and blocked in 2 positions. You pull the 'slingshot' (spring) and it automatically lets go at a certain point.

Does any what why my Makora I is so hard to shoot out. When I try to pust the slider it very hard to push. Like after shooting it a couple of times my thumb is red and sore. Is this normal or is something wrong with the knife?

@LongLiveTheHUMMER It does take some practice to open them right. Takes some getting used to... When You click it for an hour I'm sure You won't be able to open it the next day with the same thumb :P
