The Car's the Star presented by Quentin Wilson. This documentary is in two parts and is all about the Ford Capri. I've had eight Capris, so this is just up my street, I hope it is yours - enjoy!

  • Ahead of its time.

  • I've always been a massive fan of the Capri but the same can't be said for my English teacher. He keeps saying "You recreate the seventies, the decade with no style at all" & "The Capri was a rubbish car". I'd always come up with "you're in no position to judge sir, YOU are a TR7 fan!!! Only an idiot would prefer a door wedge to a reliable thing of beauty". Come back Capri, we need you

  • @MuscleCarMad Lol!

  • It's a shame that the Capri lost it's life in the 80's and stopped production, and all that because VW bit it up the backside and sent it packing with the stonking Golf GTi; however Ford's replacements in the form of the Puma Cougar and Probe weren't much cop, the Puma was absolute rubbish, the plain jane Cougar was merely a Mondeo in drag, and as for the horrid Probe, that was an awful run-a-mile job.

  • SRP 629N was my first car, back in 1990..JPS Special and I didn't know it ! probably because the body was hand painted in white. Would shudder at 40mph, had a hole where the jack point was and the windows wouldn't close properly.

But, i'm here fondly reflecting - the car was a memory maker.

As I handed the keys to the scrap yard, I was clearing it out and found a GT badge....never knew ! and neither did my insurance company lol

  • My first and second car were capris, definitely a memorable car. A legend.

  • I used to drive and sell them in Australia, the finish left a lot to be desired out there as parts were shipped in from different countries and the panels didn't fit all that well, on some case we had to modify the front pillars to get the doors to fit

Loved them, had a GT 1600, with the "roo" decals, followed by several XL's (which were less optioned), and the peak a 3 litre GT in vivid "True Blue" A great handling sexy car; still looks good today and would love to own one again!!!

  • Aj ne seri!
