Non-unplugged version of song from the Journeyman disc. More like the album, and less like the Unplugged version from the early 1990s, unlike a lot of what he played, which seems to be what he was drawing on for much of this show.
I wish I could "like" this a million times! Eric and his guitar shoot emotion straight through my heart and soul. Just one note is so intense! No one on the planet can do it like him. Love him so much!!!!!!!!
@seizetheday49 Amen! I wonder if he still thinks of Pattie when he sings this song. I know he's happily married now with 3 beautiful daughters, but he loved Pattie almost to the point of insanity. How else would he still play this song with such intensity? Just a thought....
I had the privilege of being at this concert. This song brought the house down. The emotion he evokes is off the charts. I think his guitar actually cries out and you can't help but feel it pass through you. For those that have never seen him in person do yourself a favor. See this legend before his powers and faculties fade away forever. There will never be another.
I was in Istanbul, Turkey when Eric came to Raleigh this year on my Birthday! How I hated to miss it. I too have loved his playing since his Cream days in the 60's. We love you Eric. If you love Eric, you MUST see Joe Bonamassa at the DPAC in Durham this November. Tickets just went on sale last week. Search "Further on up the Road" in You Tube for his duet with Eric in England last year.
This man is a force of nature. I have loved him since he was in Cream almost 45 years ago, and he just gets batter and better. This is a great video of this song. If it had been professionally recorded it would be even better than the Hyde Park version. I wish I had been there. Thanks so much for posting.
The most amazing performance. Those that slated him when seeing him with Jeff Beck should see this, He is far better than beck in my opinion and this performance shows why. He gets better with age
