  • great

  • It's okay, it was only on loan, I have my own flute now - M&E Ruddall and Rose, absolutely gorgeous, solid tuning and clear tone. Thanks for your tip though, it's good to know for future reference.

  • Undercutting that tone hole in the direction of the embouchure will help or fully correct the problem without making the hole bigger, if you need more than that, increasing a bit the tone hole, also in that direction only, will sharpen the pitch. Be careful and go slow, check as you go, as not to overdo it. It would be hard to add material to correct excessive tweaking! It's not that hard to do, though. You can use a small round file and sand paper to finish it off..

  • It's an older model of his flutes. One of my friends just bought a new one with much better tuning. I'm just trying to work out how to deal with the one I have now :)

  • Did ya try talking to Des Seery about the C#?

  • I have one of these flutes on loan and the C# is a quarter tone flat. Does anyone out there have any suggestions on how to sharpen it? I can't play any tunes in D!!

  • lovely! :-) one of my favourite tunes
