Awesome video, gentlemen! I have to say that I'm really curious about your older brother's photo. That piano doesn't look like it's a full size, 88 key piano... Can he shed any light on this? I'm a piano teacher, and I've always advocated for making smaller pianos for children, like the small violins children learn on...

@vinomazzei Our dad MADE that piano out of cardboard. It isn't real. You'll notice there's a reel-to-reel tape recorder where the wires should be; Dick would pretend to play the piano while the music played from the tape player!

Nice video.
Are you the same Dick King who lived in LA and worked as an actor during the 70s ?
wood2323 1 year ago
@wood2323 My brother Dick did do theater in L.A. in the late 70's/early 80's, most notably in the Las Palmas Playhouse production of Boy Meets Boy, and also as the MC in a riveting production of Cabaret in the valley.

This was such a great video! Loved every second of it. First of all, Mark, I think drum majors are much 'cooler' than football players! Second, did Dick coming out first (even though it was in his mid-20s) make it easier for Mark to do so? It must be great being brothers and gay- how much did you support each other in the early days of coming out? How did you parents take having two gay sons? This video needs a 'Part 2'!!!

@LondonNano Good questions, many of which are answered in my video blog about my Mom: go the my blog "My Fabulous Disease" and search under "Family and Friends." I will say, though, that because Dick is 14 years older, he wasn't around for my teenage years much; he was already off-Broadway in NYC. But as adults we've become quite close.
