whenever my dog growls, i usually take it as "back off" i didn't know it was more than that at times...

makes sense, I mean, they're social animals and need to comunicate somehow. It's the same reason humans evolved spoken and writen language: to comunicate ideas. Their language might not be as complex as ours but it's a language none-the-less.

of course they do! it's they're own language! it would be like us knowing the difference between someone saying ' back the f up' and 'that's my food' in our native language. dogs language is just like us trying to understand those same things said in another language. another chunk of money wasted on an obvious study.

My analysis:
The first dog was smart and knew it was a recording.
The second dog really didn't give a fuck.
and the third dog was jumpy.
