  • @LEVRAIVRAIZEN He was a real Master, a Buddha. That being said, the fact that you think something outside yourself, i.e. "he", can awaken you means that you are still asleep. Siddhartha told us to be a light unto ourselves, to no rely on others. In the word of the Heart Sutra: No ears, No eyes,.... No attainment, with Nothing to attain. Do you understand? Who is this "I" that is waiting? What is Joju's Mu?

  • @Amirmourad :Correct. An ordering of the faculties that aligns with self control-composure-whereupon one is not ruled by instinct and passion. Where instinct is ordered in a manner that leads to freedom and not bondage to the false self. "Beyond lust" transcending craving, or as we say in Zen, "Big Desire Mind." Lust is lust. Not good, not bad. Clinging is the key word. What am I holding?

  • @LEVRAIVRAIZEN

It's not like getting head. No one can do it for you, but inspiration and guidance are invaluable. Imagine how hard it would be to learn to play the violin either without any practice, or without ever hearing the violin being played or receiving some sort of lessons. Possible, but in either case it is astronomically unlikely.

  • @Toby1Idler if he is a real master, he can awake me, I am waiting...

  • What an answer!

  • really this master Seung Sahn had not respected the rule of chastity?

  • "beyond lust" to me is no attachment to sexual desire, which is no craving for sexual pleasure. knowing man, following the drive of "getting the hands there" is more probably than not just craving for sexual pleasure. It's not a new anyway, at least nothing compared to what is doing sogyal rimpoche and the other tibetan harems. this happends everywhere. they are simply seeking for girls to have sex. fine, but not a good example of responibility as regards to the sangha, to me.

  • To be "beyond lust" does not mean that you suddenly become incapable of enjoying the sexual act, or that your sexual instinct has somehow been removed from your psychological structure. Neither does it mean that you cannot engage in sex without any hesitation. All that it means is that you are no longer entangled in the enjoyment of the senses, you are capable of the experience without any clinging of the mind in the process. This is what it truly means to be "beyond lust".

  • Yep. You are right
