1) How does Social Security calculate back pay?
2) How far back will they go in terms of payment??
3) How does the SSI work in terms of payment?
4) How does a prior application affect my back pay payments?
5) Does SSA always send medical records to DDS that are given to SSA by the claimant?

  • Thank you for the info. The last part I have a "?" I was told that If the DDS determines that you are disabled they will not establish your onset date earlier than the date of the ALJ denial. When I got my ALJ denial, I submitted a new application within the first week of the denial. Can DDS really go back to the first claim then without stepping on the ALJ toes sorta speaking? I was told that the DDS has been instructed not to reverse what the ALJ determined on the 1st application.
