MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! HEROIC SRI LANKAN FORCES BACK TO BARRACKS AFTER DEFEATING RUTHLESS TERRORISTS. DO NOT LET DEADLY SL FORCES COME OUT AGAIN, THAT IS THE WARNING TO OUR ENEMIES OF TAMIL EELAM. WE ARE GUARDIANS OF SRI LANKAN SOIL. SRI LANKA. VICTORY! VICTORY! VICTORY! They shall not grow old. As we that are left grow old, age shall not weary them nor the years condemn at the going dawn of the sun, and in the morning we will remember them lest we forget.

FLUTTERING Division, Brigade and Unit flags of the Sri Lanka Army in VELLLAMULLIVAIKKAL, PUTHUMATALAN showered their cool breeze on the entire NANTHIKANDAL lagoon and the Mother Sri Lanka alike when thousands of Army troops who toiled day and night for liberation of this tiny Nation in the past few months formally ceased their fire Wednesday (20) afternoon at 14.30 hrs during a military ceremony, headed by Major General JAGATH JAYASURIYA, Commander Security Forces Wanni, General Officers Commanding, Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers and all ground commanders.

Todays military event, designed for official declaration of Silencing of Military Guns is unprecedented in the history of Sri Lanka, giving a humiliating blow to the worlds traditional myth that Terrorism cannot be militarily defeated as taught in military academia worldwide.

General SARATH FONSEKA in his capacity as the Commander of the Army made the announcement on behalf of His Excellency, the President MAHINDA RAJAPAKSA and Secretary Defence GOTABHAYA RAJAPAKSA. On Tuesday morning (19), our ground troops confirmed that they have recovered the dead body of the worlds most ruthless terrorist leader.

I make this disclosure with responsibility and pleasure as millions of Sri Lankans as well as the Army would be the most delighted at this news, General FONSEKA said. The worlds most-feared and ruthless terrorist leader, VELUPILLAI PRABAKARAN alias THAMBI alias KIRUBAKARAN alias THURAI alias HARRY alias KARIKALAN alias ALIPHA alias JUZO alias PIRABHAHARAN who massacred at least 30,000-40,000 human-beings in the past three decades is dead and gone. Megalomaniac PRABHAKARAN (54) sustained his bloodbaths after founding his LTTE organization on 5th May 1975 infusing eternal agony and fear- psychosis to the masses. His vicious cycle of violence commenced on 27 July 1975 after butchering Jaffna Mayor, Alfred Duraiappah in a shoot-out. As the brainchild behind all those atrocities, he engineered the assassination of a Sri Lankan President, an Indian Prime Minister, a host of Ministers, Buddhist monks, Hindu, Catholic and Muslim priests, Chiefs of the Armed Forces and the Police, Thousands of innocent villagers and almost anybody who does not tread his line. Bomb explosions, massacres, bloodbaths and heinous crimes against humanity were his bread and butter and part of the daily agenda.

A two-minute silence was observed by all as a mark of respect to their fallen War Heroes before commencement of the days proceedings and it turned out to be an emotional moment of burst to some of those soldiers who lost their fellow-troopers in action. The brief ceremony came to a close after all soldiers together with their superiors posed for a group photo, one that would bring immortal memories for generations.

On the direct supervision of the Commander of the Army General Sarath Fonseka, Major General Jagath Jayasuriya, Commander Security Forcers Wanni, 53 Division Commander Major General Kamal Gunarathna, 55 Division Commander Brigadier Prasanna Silva, 56 Division Commander Major General H.C.P. • May 18 2010 (MoD) A year after the vicory against EelamWar-IV.Salute the triumph over evil.Solemnity hangs in the air as we salute today all those who fought and laid down their lives and the thousands who suffered debilitating physical and mental injuries to regain our precious freedom and reclaim our way of life in this Paradise Isle that minds its own business. To the strains of the national anthem echoing in our hearts, today we light an oil lamp

  • this video actually did bring tears to my eyes..if could i would die for sarath fonseka..in vain he did all of this for the stupid srilankans..look at his state today!!!!!!...u ppl..open your eyes. how can you enjoy life with such bliss when the man who did the biggest part to end this war is suffering out there..

  • @saduniD, very true. How can sri lankans and Mahinda Rajapakse forget SF's contribution to victory and send SF to prison? One day people will wake up and curse MR if he doesnt solve the issue in a humanistic way. SF might be wrong on war crime statement on a personal issue but war heros, dead or alive cant be erased in the hearts of people!

  • next to kill should be ponna ranil wickermasinge.. and chandrika wessi

  • Ranil's two state option for the solution has made himeself as a separate terrorists and deserves the same punishment as fora terrorist. Chandrika, I am not convinced as a terrorist, she tried to hit hard when in power. she has become a rival of MR. her fans like Mangala can be called as a supporter of separate terrorists

  • What did you do differenty?

    General Fonseka:

Earlier we would recruit approximately 3000 per year, now we are achieving targets of 3000 per month. Immediately after we took Mavil Aru in August 2006, we managed to recruit 6,000 in a single month. In 2007, the total number of recruits was 32,000 and this year we have already recruited 34,000. The strength of the Army when I took over was 116,000. Today it stands at 170,000. So we have sufficient reserves now. I created 50 new battalions.

  • What did you do differently?

    General Fonseka:

We were lacking in strength of numbers as well. The battalions were depleted. I created 5 more divisions. And, as the people realized that something concrete was happening, that this time around there was commitment, capability and determination on the part of the political leadership as well as the security forces, the recruitment drive was extremely successful.

  • What did you do differently?

    General Fonseka:

The Defence Secretary also knew that we would have to fight. At that time 40,000 soldiers didnt have helmets. Many had just one uniform and one pair of boots. There was a shortage of 40,000 numbers of flat jackets. We needed to replenish stocks and get ready for a prolonged engagement with the enemy and this is exactly what we did.
