  • I was on the boat during this trip, it was actually my last trip before i got stationed in buffalo. but to granskare, all the 140 ft icebreakers are named after famous bay's in the U.S., its just a coincident that its in the freezing U.P. of Michigan. there are 9 total 140's in the Coast Guard, 5 are on the great lakes.

  • I'm from the U.P. of Mich but it is so odd to me that an ice breaker should be named for a feature of the state of Florida :) politics I guess.

  • What a great shot of how thick the ice is! I live in Washington but grew up in Superior so I'm always checking out what is still going on in Supetown!:)

  • Very nice video. I grew up in Moose Lake and visit your website all the time. In fact my family and I were down at the lift bridge on Christmas Eve right after it had snowed a foot the day before. It is a lot different in the winter, but pretty cool.

Thank you for your hard work and keep the videos coming. They really add to the experience.

  • I watched the video from Boise, Idaho. It was awesome!
