He died after contracting HIV. This song was about that i suppose, not just about how he was gay, but at the same time it was, because he contracted HIV from his sexual choices. He died in 1991, after contracting HIV, which killed him, but the press didn't know for quit some time, that he had contracted HIV. That's all really.......
