Tom Hylton, Pulitzer Prize winning author of Save Our Land, Save Our Towns, spoke to the PA Farm Preservation Board on June 11, 2009. He uses math and common sense to educate people about the need to move away from relying on cars as our main mode of transportation. He fondly recalls establishing a Walking Scale (the ability to walk 300 feet in one minute) in Wyomissing PA to build Walkable Communities. Living in villages and towns is a permanent way to save farms. He has a passion to provide bike lanes along roads, and using Pottstown as an example, shares creative views on zoning.

  • I live in North Wales and I wish it was more friendly to people. Walkability is an important factor in keeping us healthy. Check out my video on walkable neighborhoods at youtube otis31755 and let me know what you think

  • Hi, this is great and as a land use planner I see the benefit and I was raised in the old row homes in Louisville. I also design walkable communities as well and have a new 5 minute video at otis31755
