This song is called Never Forget by Martin O'Donnell from the Halo 3 Original Soundtrack. I bought the CD right when it came out, no wait, I reserved mine XD. I'm a Halo fan geek. I remembered the first time I got my hands on the Xbox controller and played Halo 1. It was the scariest game because I set it to legendary on my first try and it was a thrilling experience. From then the game have connected me with many friends who also enjoy the game and we played co-op together. A couple of years later, Halo 2 came out and many more of my friends jumped in and we would all gather at one of my friends house once every year on his birthday to have a huge Halo party. It brings back a lot of memories...pretty Nostalgic

There was this song on the Halo 2 menu. Every time after we finish a game, we would sit and wait for the next game to start, so on the meantime, this song would play on the menu. This song brings back a lot of standby memories.

And now, there is Halo 3. I loved that song on Halo 2 so much that I had to get the Halo 3 soundtrack right away and listen to it. So once I got it, there was a piano part in the middle to the end of the song. I got interested and decided to try and play it myself. I sat down by the piano one day and made copies of blank music sheets and began writing down the notes that I hear. I never thought that I would be able to finish writing down all the notes because it was so long, but this is something that brings memories, so I had to finish it.

I don't have the music sheets because Marin O'Donnell never gave them out on the internet or anywhere else I believe...the ones on the video were all just written out a year ago with my pencil.

I'm currently waiting for Halo 3 Recon XD...especially the soundtrack!

Just finished transcribing the entire piece, from orchestra to piano. Your video really helped with the piano part, i was having trouble until i found it. I am composing a replica of the entire piece in mixcraft and will post it soon.
