Thank you for this journey back to childhood, where this and Muppet's Family Christmas were recorded on VHS tapes to watch again and again, just to be lost to age and static. Thank you for bringing it back.

I have seen this in all forms (original broadcast, repeated broadcasts, vhs, dvd and now youtube)since 1978 and have passed this tradition on by sharing Christmas Eve on Sesame St with the nieces, nephews, and other kids in my life. Great holiday special, just too bad PBS chooses not to re-air this classic anymore.

Them coming home to find their Christmas tree eaten by Cookie Monster has remained with me all my 23 years of living. Classic Christmas special.
