Professor John Hartley's digital story: The Perfect Rock.
Digital Storytelling is emerging as a powerful means of
communication and cultural participation around the
world. It brings together expert and non-expert creative
practitioners, who work together to create first-person
narratives for a wide and growing range of purposes,
including self-expression, literacy, community
engagement, and public communication.

Thanks for the comment, SV. I made this to be a digital story, rather than for a particular audience, but naturally I'm curious to know if people like it. It was made as part of a QUT research program in digital storytelling, which is experimenting with sharing personal stories around wider circles. I made it before YouTube started (!), so I'm happy to have it here on the new QUTube site, where people can see it if they want to.

Thanks for sharing your story John!
Can I ask... who did you make it for? And why? What did they think of it? What kind of comments do you hope to get from your (much broader!?) audience on 'youtube'?
Like all good stories it reveals a little of you and raises lots more questions... does a 'general public' audience have a right to ask personal questions (like... I didn't know you were raised in an orphanage?)
I look forward to sharing more stories... and asking more questions!
Regards, SV
