Many have used the concept of the habitability zone to explain Earth's temperate climate and the extreme heat and cold of Venus and Mars respectively. However, analysing the atmospheric make-up of each of the planets, the habitability is not based solely on distance from the sun, but heat retention, another factor helping us understand whether life is in fact common in the universe.

  • hmmm idiots

  • I have read where life couldn't exist on earth without the moon. If this has any truth, and let's assume for the sake of this questiong that it is, what would be the effects of a tidal-effect inducing moon, mathematically sized and distanced from Mars and Venus, on those two other planets? Thanks.

  • This is simple, venus and mars have no protective magnetic field. The only reason venus has an atmosphere and the type it does is from constant surface renewal. These facts are 100% correct and extremely simplistic in nature.

  • @Batta0909 carbon isnt a greenhouse gas BUT carbon dioxide IS .......

  • Then why didn't the parachute melt on Venus?

  • DEAR VIEWERS, FOR ASTONISHING FACTS ABOUT PLANETS, JUST TYPE IN THE SEARCHING BOX:

    Quran and Science

SEVEN PARTS! YOU MUST LIKE THEM!

  • @barbm001 they say that venus was once alot like earth in almost every way, so really if you think bout it when you look at venus your really looking at the future of what our planet might be ... and mars will become earth and the cycle continues .. brilliant we just got to jump planets not to hard

  • @barbm001 yeah we should just go plant trees and sunflowers on mars and then we will have an awesome neighbor planet with hippies

  • @kaboose1994 i also think that it has the same problem as jupiter's moon IO. and to destroy the volcanoes, you must destroy the planet's core. might aswell leave venus the way it is :)
