Currently, the 1976 Hyde Amendment prohibits the use of federal funds for abortions through Medicaid except in cases of rape, incest or when the mother's health is in peril. So states that want to offer abortion coverage have to pay for it themselves. The
"health exception is often used as a
way to provide funding for ALL abortions since "mental health" is included in that broad definition. Federal funds cannot be provided "through Medicaid". Once medicaid is gone, ??? & the states can fund.

have ya ever read the Hyde amendment can not use gov funds for abortion would need to change Hyde amendment first very hard t housed to go through then the courts i doubt would be in any bill go back to school idiots

so why were over 9 amendments, which were written specifically to prevent funding of abortions, thrown out by the Democrats?
