July 30, 2009 we traveled from SE Michigan to Grand Island, Nebraska for my sister-in-laws wedding and my mother-in-laws 80th birthday party. We drove straight thru in 15 hours, stopping only to buy gas, fast food and make restroom stops. I took serveral videos along the way and I will post them as I find time to upload them. This is the first one. I had just purchased a Kodak HD Z1485 IS camera with HD video capability. In this video we had traveled from east to west thru MI and had just turned south along the Great Lake ( Lake Michigan ) as we went by Michigan City, IN. The car is a 09 Chevy Impala which is a very comfortable car for a road trip. After nearly 40 years, the U.S. Interstate System of roads is still one of the most wonderful things about this great country.

in Indiana SPEED LIMIT 65 signs are now rare
Michigan SPEED LIMIT 65 signs are now rare or extinct
the old Trucks over 13 tons 60 mph signs still appear on I-74 for a few miles stretch SE of Indianapolis in 2005 Indiana began allowing 70 or 65 for trucks over 26,000 lbs. in 2006 Michigan allowed 60 for trucks and started replacing 65 mph signs with 70 mph signs.
