The Arlington Million is a prestigious Grade 1 race in the United States for thoroughbred horses aged three years and upward. It is raced over a distance of 1¼ miles on the turf at Arlington Park, Arlington Heights, Illinois.
Gio Panti ran a great race after stumbling out of the gate. He paid $5.00 to win, $3.40 to place and $2.60 to show. 4 Grade 1 Stakes win for him.
Final Order of Finish:
1st - #6 Gio Ponti ($594,000.00).
2nd - #3 Just As Well ($198,000.00).
3rd- #4 Stotsfold ($99,000.00).
4th - #8 Cima De Triomphe ($49,500.00).
5th - #1 Einstein ($29,700.00).
6th - #5 - Mr. Sidney.
7th - #7 - Gloria De Campeao.
8th - #2 - Presious Passion.
Hopefully we'll be seeing a lot more of Stotsfold - he showed great late kick but just couldn't get there against Gio - arguably the best male turf horse now in the US. Congrats to Walter Swinburn and young Adam Kirby - he's got a bright future.
