  • Very well detailed sir :) I might copy your list if I ever need to remove the head on my 91 SW but so far this engine is behaving good with only 72k miles. (knock on wood).

  • @RigsPGT I am put up a video on a 99 SL1 head R&R very soon so stay tuned.

  • So what's the point of setting tdc before you take the head off, could you not wait until you can see the #1 piston on the rebuild and set it then

  • @honda12racingcbr If you are replacing the head you would not have to.

  • rich if i put the engine on tdc just to do something after i finish that do i have to rotate it back down to start or it dont matter.

  • @hp11208 Let me get this straight the timing belt is on correctly and you rotate the engine to TDC then you want to know what to do after you check your marks. You do not have to do anything if everything looks ok you can leave it at tdc if you like.

  • @richpin06a Ok so after i do a demo and put everything back together i can start the car back up even if its at tdc

  • @OneDayHenry Yes but be careful you can bend the valves in the head.

  • Awesome!

    Thanks for the reply!

Oh, if the timing belt is busted, will the crank still turn over?

  • @OneDayHenry Would you believe a little Samsung TL105
