We at GBDotNet were updated a while back that Gerry was "considering it." With

new names cropping up, I suspect he has turned it down for whatever reason. I don't think either Donovan or Fox have enough screen or box office power to handle this. This actor has to totally eat up the screen. Only the Butler eyes, face,and persona can do that. Bana might be an adequate 2nd choice, but he's

Gerry is THE ONE no question. Nobody works harder than him on his

characters, and I think IF he wants it, and the $ is there, it's his. Thanks

And most importantly, they better not choose someone who refuses to play Mitch Rapp as is because it wouldn't be keeping in line with Hollywood's liberal views. I mean God forbid we actually have a main character that's actually a patriot and cold heartedly assassinated MIDDLE EASTERN TERRORISTS (not russians).

I think a big named actor like Gerard Butler who has already made his mark as the famed King Leonidas in 300 would be a mistake. Not to beat a dead horse but his accent is hard to mask at the best of times. He's sort of along the right idea for a Mitch Rapp but I think for the best effect, we need a young up and coming star who can make his mark as THE Mitch Rapp... someone we have never seen before.

Butler would be good if he can trim down and get the accent right. Accents are his downfall. Bana has the right body type and his role in Blackhawk Down tells me he can do it. Collin Farrell is too much of a pain in the ass and a puss to do a good job. I can imagine him bitching about cultural sensitivities during filming and he probably wouldn't stick with it through multiple films.

Dominic Purcell would be a great pick. He seems to have ALL of Mitch Rapp's characteristics. He's even a southpaw! Talk about bad ass. Watch a few episodes of Prison Break and you'll have a new front runner.
