The "big backlash on soldiers who came home" is pure unadulterated propaganda. In fact, just the opposite is true. The opposite is true.

Please watch my video: "Sir, No Sir" which is a review of a documentary of the same name. A sociologist has researched (newspapers, TV news, books, etc.) the return of soldiers from Viet Nam and found none (zero, nada) were spit on or mistreated in any way. It was all just part of the endless divisive propaganda and myth mking by the great American wurlitzer.
