Great! Just what I needed. You explain in a very pedagogical way so that almoast everyone can understand how to take the computer apart. Now I'm going to open my Imac and try to refix it - I've already done the first part, but I was unsure of the rest. Thank's a lot! is the harddrive sata or ide and also can a glue gun be use to reatach the thermal sensor on new harddrive?

It is a SATA drive and I guess a glue gun would work (although it might not read the temp correctly afterwards)

can u find the serial number inside there???

The serial # is on the bottom of the stand. If you put the imac face down and look at the bottom of the stand you can see it.
