That's the part a lot of people seem to forget about. They don't state in the commercial that Mighty Putty cures fast, and there's even a disclaimer in the fully-loaded tractor trailer bit that says that they let Mighty Putty cure for 24 hours prior to the test. The instructions state that curing time will differ, depending on the size of the piece.
"but a day later pete told us it was able to pick up the block".... i feel that part should have been shown not the failure of it, its not going to cure in 15mins or howver little time they gave it, and the commercial does not claim to cure that fast. Also i would have clamped the shelf onto the wall... don't know how or apply constant pressure to ensure a tight seal to the wall.
you know if you look at how fast that semi is going someones prolly driving it and he gets out of the way becuz they go to fast but they go at the same speed and u can seem some slack in the chain
Ive had some success out of this stuff. Its not as good as they make it seem of course, but if used right it does have some uses. I had a older car with some sort of a plug broke off of the transmission leaving a small hole in the tranny. I filled it with this stuff, waited around a day before i ran the car. it worked-kept it from leaking! Still holding today.
As far as using it on a spoon, no way. That stuff might be toxic or something.
cinder block - putty clearly wasn't dry

Not to mention that they didn't stick Mighty Putty right on the block: they made a chain out of it.

Quick test = fail. In the INSTRUCTIONS, it says that you have to wait at least 24 hours for a full bond.
