In an interview Joan Baez admitted to throwing the glass. She did it out of frustration at the way Dylan was treating her on that tour. She came to England expecting to be invited to perform with Dylan, as she had shared her spotlight with him in America when he was lesser known. No invitation came. Their love affair was also coming to an end.So all in all her trip wasn't turning out as she'd expected and finding herself in a hotel with a lot of drunks was probably not her idea of fun either.

@mahatmacote i wouldnt call it childish..this incident happened in a hotel that dylan was in and some drunk got in their and thought it would be funny to throw a glass in the street..if it hit anybody it would of done serious damage..the managers had a go at dylan over it and thats why he got pissed and i would be the same..would of thrown the stupid drunk brit out the window after the glass..dylan should of decked him

He had every right to be pissed off. I would be livid if I had an S-load of people at my place and one of them threw a glass in the middle of the street. A) your place=your responsibility. B) respect the home you are in as a guest, drunk or not. and last but not least, C) what the &*#@? A glass in the street? you A-h o l e!
