http://billingsford.com Joel Bechtold of Archie Cochrane Ford explains some of the differences between the Escape and the Subaru. Ford has several advantages over it's competitor. For example, most folks want to be able to tow a small trailer. The Escape can tow up to 3500 lbs, while the Forester can only tow up to 2000 lbs.

  • @Loscaldazar They don't have the "best time" that time is bullshit and so is the motor trend one. Independant testing, not some paid for test, saw the escape did a 0-60 in 6.7 s. lol I can't believe you think these mags are true! The Escape has a 15.0s 1/4 time. How in the fuck is it doing 0-60 in 8s? HAHAH. Once again i told you the 2001 V6 escape was 8.1 seconds with 40hp less. Look up iamthecarczar for a non-paid, independant review. Or better yet test it yourself.

  • @CJDUBstang

I get you know! You are just making things up to troll and irritate people! If Edmunds is so hostile than why did they have the best 0-60 time for the v6? Motor trend states 8.7 seconds! Otherwise zeroto60 lists 8.9. You are ridiculous and have NO facts to back your claims up. You for some reasons have fanboi syndrome for Ford-not even i like every subaru they built (ie the tribeca). The Ford Escape IS slow, and the forester is faster. Besides people actually tune/mod Foresters!

  • @k1ngj1mmy How does your boyfriend like the Forester?

  • @Loscaldazar lol edmunds. I can't believe Edmunds took GM's cock out of their hand long enough to even type up a review. They are one of the most ford hostile reviewers out there yet love GM's garbage. All their tests are stupidly fixed. Go look for some verified times and you will -I guarantee- find a time less than 7s. lol 8.1? You seriously are stupid if you believe that. That's how fast the old model was like 10 years ago. HAHAH. Go back to your car magazines.

Alright, sources! Edmunds.com Ford Escape V6 0-60. Direct Quote here,"We found a V6-equipped model delivered adequate power. . .0-60-mph acceleration in a middling 8.1 seconds. The Escape didn't prove impressive in our handling tests either, as it received a "Poor" rating from our test-driver." Forester 0-60 time- 6.8 seconds! The forester is a SPORT utility vehicle. The higher octane is for the turbo! And having a turbo means you can tune it up to 300/400 Ft-lbs like some do!

  • @Loscaldazar Hey man, there is nothing wrong with drum brakes. The hondas and Nisaans all have em so do even Toyota trucks. Its not a damn sports car. Its classed a truck. Last time I checked the escape AWD is 0-60 UNDER 7s, not 9.3s maybe the 4 cyl or the hybrid, so stop with the lies. "SOILD FACTS" yeah right, idiot. I really question the "superiority" of the drive train when the damn thing needs 91 octane just to make 224hp and has a 4-speed 1mpg.

  • @CJDUBstang

Power to weight ratio! Powerband for a second! Even with turbo lag the forester has max torque kick in 1,500 RPM's sooner and has more torque, max horsepower kicks in 1,350 RPM's sooner than the escape. Third is efficiency of the drive train which Subaru once again wins. Lets not talk about brakes either.. really drum brakes on the escape? The 0-60 times are solid facts and the Subaru is faster!

  • @readydvd I'm sorry...huh? how is this possible when the Escape has more hp, no turbo lag and weighs only 200lbs more?

  • Tested this car...it sucks Big time!!! Bought a Subaru ForesterXT premium. My xt premium will fucking Destroy this Hill Billy peice of shit!!......IN CASE OF A CRASH....... YOU WILL NEED IT IN THIS HEAP OF SHIT!!!

  • Bought this car brand new, its very reliable. The only regret is opting for anything other than the 4x4... not a good decision especially living on an island or coastal area. One disappointment is the turning radius on this vehicle. A much bigger vehicle like the 2010-2011 Jeep Cherokee had a better turning radius which was upsetting. Other than that, the Escape is one of the best SUV's on the road.
