Funny, The feeling I always got when I heard the "peacock spreads its deadly fan " was a mushroom cloud. My nr. 3 all time top anti-war songs.
No one has to join a movement or embrace a theory in order to see and understand some of the truth of life, the world and or future. As a matter of fact, many of the seers of history did NOT understand all of the things they saw.
It is a deep and far-sighted song and an indictment of the merchants of war. If the shoe fits...

Torah Midrash says that Isaac was 36 years old.We know as a fact from the book "Seder Olam" which goes according to the Hebrew calendar that first day is Rosh Hashana new year 5772 years ago.From Adam's birth til death as the Bible relates,Cain,etc.to Noah,to Avraham,Isaac.Showing that he was 36.The point was that he was no mere child told what to do but Avraham and Yitzchak went with like hearts(in the original Hebrew)& Isaac agreed.Avraham followed G-D's order,his agreed from love of G-D.

It would've been a great video, except I don't think that conspiracy propaganda fits the final verse. I think the idea is that ultimately we're all on our own, and that the anti-war movement is an army just like any other. "Mercy on our uniform, man of peace or man of war; the peacock spreads his fan". Cohen's songs don't lend themselves well to ideological alignment, which is the essence of their freeing qualities.
