It does happen. Often. Especially with braid on multipliers. Its happened to myself when I've had a big pike on and not been able to reel in properly.
-
don't forget to tighten down your drag

dude, best video on how to spool braid. all these guys using a uni knot to join braid & mono piss me the hell off. this was 100 times better. thanks :)

omg is he on bio dome? :D
-
good,this is my way

Do NOT use tape on your reel! When it gets wet it will turn into a goopy, sliding mess. Use a couple wraps of mono first, and connect the braid and mono using an albright knot.
-
Is the tape sticky side up?
-
the whole "line spinning and slipping" is such a joke, once the line is wrapped around itself, it tightens up and doesnt move
-
what rod is that ??
Great video man! What brand do you suggest and what kind of tape do you put on the spool?

Thanks! You can use regular black electricians tape. That's what I use for most of my reels.
