z11223344 3 months ago in playlist Linux shell
@z11223344: Well, it's a script that comes pre-installed on Linux Mint. But it's just uses a program called "cowsay" and another called "fortune". Search for the word "cowsay" in my videos and you should find a video on it. Once you learn about cowsay and fortune, you just need to add your script to your .bash.rc files. Anything in your .bash.rc file in your home dir will run when BASH is started.

This should work in Ubuntu 11.04, right? Sorry, only experience with Linux is via Ubuntu, I'm a complete noob when it comes to bash.

@arbayer2 (To clarify, "is via Ubuntu's GUI applications, i.e. roughly the same type stuff a normal Windows user'd get into. Nothing like bash. :P)

@arbayer2: Linux is Linux, you should be good. just install it the way you would normally install software using the package manager of your choice.

@arbayer2: Yeah, it should. If you are having trouble getting it to work let me know what errors you are getting.
