turvari, this is a chitrali stringed music instrument and its kind are found all over afghanistan, tajikistan and pakistan. by the tone it is very different from indian sitar. the player plays instrument with feeling and strumming and striking are styles. if you find it funny or strange, why not look at other youtube vids on bass slapping or see KT Tunstall slapping her guitar.
