In his book "Negotiating Skills for the ISDA Master Agreement: The Essential Playbook for Over-the-Counter Derivatives," Seth P. Bender, Esq. identifies certain consistencies in the terms and provisions negotiated by dealers across Wall Street under the ISDA Master Agreement. Mr. Bender wrote this playbook to provide dealer counterparties with an insider's understanding of these negotiations and to improve their positions at the table. Without an understanding of what to ask for in a negotiation, uninformed dealer counterparties are at a significant disadvantage when forming an OTC trading relationship.
