Big Brush Creek Cave, Vernal, Utah

This video shows a hike made to Big Brush Cave, in the Ashley National Forest, North of Vernal, Utah. We took ATVs, starting at Iron Springs, along the Outlaw Trail, and to the meadow above the cave. We then dropped down the ridge into the mouth of the cave. Unlike previous visits over the last few years, this time there was a large ice column and we were able to get deeper into the cave than usual. Many times, trees and mud block the way into the tunnels in the back. This time, we were able to squeeze through and visit parts of the cave I haven't been to in 10 or 20 years.

what do you mean it was an "ice column." what is that? how is that?

It is what it is. That ice column is about 200 feet into the cave. The mouth of the cave is about 200 feet wide, if not more. As for "water pools", anything that melts runs downhill into the cave or soaks into the sand. Nothing to hold a pool of water.

thats freakin awesome, i didnt know this was there, i was up past iron springs about a week ago and got stuck in our car and the park ranger had to tow us out
