The Optimum Moustache Theory is an impoverishment theory. When one person grows a moustache, someone else has to shave one off because there are only so many moustaches to go around. By wearing a false moustache (thus enabling women to get involved and not just men) you declare your commitment to abundance - there is plenty of trade, plenty of markets, plenty of opportunities to go around.
