@ppt234 if a 6 inch crawfish got a hold of most people theyd be in for a seriously painful pinch, the crawfish we find here in VA USA dont get more than 5-7 inch, and even the 3-4 inch ones can give a nasty pinch, got a 7 incher in a creek, my friend wanted to pick it up and i told him to leave it be or he'd get hurt, ive never seen a 16 year old scream so loud, he flung his arm in the air and crawfish landed on floor but was unharmed, i dont catch em to eat, i used to keep em as pets! love em

This crayfish was caught in the upper Latrobe, Gippsland spiny crayfish can be found in most waterways through out the Eastern Victorian ranges.
Spiny crayfish like the Euastacus Australasiensis and Euastacus Spinifer can grow past the NSW legal catch size. For those who may be planning a crayfish trip in the NSW, please read the following NSW Recreational Fishing Guide 2010.
Happy Cray fishing.
