I really hope that Volvo will finally show us a V40 and S40 that will be nice to look at and could give a bit more or luxurious design inside. The current one seems to me as worse than current Ford Focus. The exterior design is also nothing special. A good-looking V40 will be something big. But don't make the V40 that looks the same as V60 but is a bit smaller! If I saw the picture and didn't know it's the new V40, I'd be sure it's a V60, so be careful, Volvo.

I'm really glad Volvo got away from Ford. The smaller cars made under the Ford era, like the C30/S40/V40, had an American interior, not a well built European one.

This thing needs the following: (coming froma long time Volvo fan and obviously T5 owner)

-Haldex AWD seen in the Polestar C30

-T5 engine with 250-300HP With the M66 Transmission.

-Sedan version

-Polestar package.

The V40 was the middle of the range station wagon back in the days ... It was a competitor to the Ford Focus hatchback version and other cars in that price and size range. I presume that this will be a competitor to like an Audi A3 sportsback, BMW 1-series 5D version, Subaru Impreza and so on. Volvo already have a medium sized station wagon in the V50 (the V40's successor) which is competing against Ford Focus, Audi A4, BMW 3-series.

The interviewer knows nothing about cars, the V40 has been launched before but that car sucked. Hope that this one will be just as a good success as the V60 for Volvo!
