Oh, my God, Baby Sandya, My childhood friend, she lived in armour street flats.I remember the day we went to see Mr, N M Perera's, campaign. Just the two of us, got afraid of firework & ran home. I wonder where she is.

Dear Pooji,
I am not sure, I have met Sada uncle a few times at Rocks residence, with Shelton Perera and Gamini Fonseka for paduru parties, I was in my teens at that time, but these are the memories, I have no words to explain, from classical, Kavi, eastern, western, arabic, hindustaan, spanish, mariachchi or what ever
They use to perform till dawn.
After a meal of "Kiribath" they all leave.

Some Royalist PATTIARACHCHIs were directly related (nephew's) to Sumitra Peiris.
Is Sada too ?

Sorry I could not mention the name of harp and sarvada player, He was "SADA PATTIARACHCHI".
they were all old Royalists.

I still remember the book 'Sudo Sudu' by Sagara Palansuriya aka Keyas we used to read.
Masterpiece in Sri lanka literature.
Thanks for bringing back the memories.
Regards
Vidhura
Thanks for posting this clip, Milton Perera too sings. The only Saruwada player in SL plays the instrument.
He played the same instrument with the harp in the song "Sarawanabawa" by Mohideen baig.
Harp is played in this Kavi too.
Somadasa Elvitigala was the Orchestra leader at the then Radio Ceylon.

Thank you for all the information. Oh yeah, it's Milton not Dharmadasa. Corrected. A lot of nice instruments.. I didn't know about the Saruwada. "Sarawana Bawa" is a classic from Maestro Rocksamy.
