honestly buddy an 850 cfm carb is pobly bigger then u need on any 355 by about 80-100cfm. theres a mathmatical equation that i dont know but i do know a stock 350 can take no more then 615 cfm without runnin way to rich and then i just go off that. i run a q-jet 750 mechanical sec. on my 355 and its beautiful. im not sayin i know better so correct me if im wrong. just tryin to help. sounds beautiful tho. i read that in chevy hipo or super chevy by the way.

Absolutely correct, the 850 was too much running rich, just put a new 750 DB PMP on it, made a huge difference. I was think with the large valves, the ported heads etc it would handle the 850 but it was too much for street driving.

How have your lifters held up with this set up? I got the k12-771 kit with the 818 lifters and 977 springs and am getting gun shy about my lifters ruining my motor. This is my 2nd motor I've ever built and my first one only lasted 3 weeks and 9 runs. What lash are you running? The .016 .018 on the cam card?

She's just goregous, man. Simply goregous. That idle made my hair stand on end. Just one thing, if at all possible could you post a higher quality vid? I'd love to see that paint not so pixelated. Aside from that, just simply BADASS. chuck norris would envy this beast.
