Ya know, oftentimes, it's when I read the comments of others, that I feel myself in the company of warm and kindred souls.

He and Doug Long should be as national institution. And guitar isn't even Garnett's
first instrument. It's his third after violin and bass.

I met Garnet at a show in Vancouver and was talking to him outside for awhile when the conversation turned to Aussie poet Henry Lawson. Garnet had turned 3 of his poems into song, even an album title. (Outside Track) When the show resumed he recounted our conversation to the audience, aologized for any forthcoming errors as he hadn't played the songs in awhile, and proceeded to play the Outside Track and After All. How dare he stray from the set list. :) Nice guy.

Garnet and Stan are and always will be the best. I WISH I could write songs like this. I could die a happy man.

A beautiful ode to Stan, I love this song, and Garnet is a treasure. Thanks to both of you.

My dear friend... I live just outside a little market town mid England... Hamilton Ontario is as distant to me as the planet Mars! I still like Garnet's music though.. It accompanies me when I wade through the mud... (and deep snow) to feed chicks, birds and various stray animals... so big thanks to you all . Best regards Sue (Happy happy New Year!)

@cambridgeratmom Whoops, sorry! Don't know what in the world I could have been thinking ... dang, it's so hard being right about everything! Regardless, pretty wonderful poetry, singing, and fiddlin'.

@coomhola it's a violin, not a viola

@TheSuemac I dont think Garnet sang King of rome,, the guy with the Derby accent is David Sudbury...
-
Absolutely magnificent.

Canadian, American? .. Dont care! Love his music and want to hear more...
Dave Sudbury composed and sang 'King of Rome'. Just bought the CD 'King of Rome'. Definitely Dave Sudbury and not Garnet Rogers

I was astonished that Garnet Rogers was American!... He sang King of Rome with my accent!! . I was born in the next street to Brook St - some 40 years later must add.... I wonder if Rogers was curious about life in the West End of Derby when he recorded King of Road. He got it pretty much right... I take my hat off to him
