Who:
I am Stephen as you may have already gathered; I hail from Dublin and join this world in the year of 82. I am now a mass of 14 stone and block the shade of anyone below the 61 mark. I have a good sense of humour or so I believe, and like to drink pints of Guinness the black stuff now and again.
I have many guises from all different walks in my life; in school I was called Fonzie as a result of my dodgy hair. Disco Steve has been trust on me too as a result of my now legendary dance moves. The Guerrilla Poet has come about from me spitting verses into peoples hears at any given moment. Stephen James Smith being my proper name it is what I mostly go as these days, and the full title is not to be posh, but as you are such a learned individual reading this will well know there are many poets out there who go by a number of combinations of my birth name, so I am in good company.
What:
So what do I do, or have I done? hard question, I have made many mistakes in my life, I hope I have learnt from them, guess I wouldnt be the person I am otherwise, and I dont think I am a bad fecker. I have travelled around Europe and got as far as Tanzania where I did voluntary work and tried to save the world I think I came back a bit more grounded and had some less hippie notions of the world I must confess. I still do voluntary work with Cheevestown House (with 3 autistic kids every Saturday) and I do School Talks for Amnesty International. I studied Mechanical Engineering in I.T. Tallaght (big mistake) not that I disliked the college, it just was not the path I was meant to take, or so I believe now. I write poetry and host The Glór Sessions, but for more info on them click on my Poetry C.V., or The Glór Sessions.
Where:
I grew up in the Knocklyon / Tallaght area of Dublin and am an only child, I dont think I am a totally self centred fecker though (mind you I did say I believe I have a sense of humour!)
What:
Do I do? I try to write poetry and recite it in a mildly entertaining manner, click on my poetry bio for info on that.
cheers for that lads, will spread the word now.
