  • @FastVideoTech I cant find the type of screwdriver that would fit in the screws of the laptop. What type are they and what size?

  • @lutfi186 A very small phillips head screw driver is what I used for most of this replacement.

  • Do you this bid for vgn s460? Please let me know! Much thanks!

  • @lapd1989 I do not understand your question. Please rephrase and ask again. Thank you!

  • what's the purpose for the thermal paste? what is the cost of replacement for the fan?

  • @kdn210 The thermal paste is a conductor of heat specifically designed to transfer heat from the processor to the heat sink of the laptop. You may want to contact Sony as there was a extended warranty for fans offered from them at one point. I would charge 1 hour labor and cost of the fan which total cost would be about $70. I do a free estimate at my shop so you know the exact cost before agreeing to the work.

  • @WinsomeJaf eBay is one of the best. I got my replacement power cable for $5.

  • @plaindipset1 Thermal paste to help with the cooling process. You can get a tube of it at your local radio shack for about $4.

  • To everyone using the CS series(VGN-CSXXX) visit the nearest Sony SVC Center, it is free coz it has a worldwide recall, along w/ the LCD when you notice it has developing lines on the lower part or it is Flickering they as well replace it for free except VGN-CS1XXX series, Just curious buddy how did you remove the DVD Drive w/ out disconnecting the Flex cable from the mother Board? , it's like a magic to me.....u'r so helpfull....

  • ...

  • Could someone tell me what the white stuff added to the fan component after cleaning is?

  • tell me a good store or website to order laptops internal parts

  • @MegaTutorial101 Well, if you're going to format the hard drive, you must not be worried about re-installing windows, so you WILL need a boot disk of some description. I'd recommend trying Ubuntu, because it's got a similar UI to Windows in some respect, and like most linux-based OS's, it's completely free.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

THIS VIDEO HELPED ME OUT SO MUCH! I ordered the new fan off ebay. So this saved me a shit ton of money for what stores charge. WAS SUPER EASY!

And the entire process worked for my gf's "Sony Vaio VGN-CS204j" perfectly. Everything was exactly how u did here in this video.

  • Can you plsss make a video on how to make to format a laptop without a bootdisk

  • got VGN-CS110E, was fed up of the noise.. Thanks for uploading such a helpful video.... replaced the fan myself....saved too much... here in india getting a VAIO repaired is not that easy...
