John Pilger's documentary explores the historic and current relationship of Washington with countries such as Venezuela, Bolivia and Chile. Pilger claims that the film "...tells a universal story... analyzing and revealing, through vivid testimony, the story of great power behind its venerable myths. It allows us to understand the true nature of the so-called "war on terror". According to Pilger, the films message is that the greed and power of empire is not invincible and that people power is always the "seed beneath the snow".
Pilger interviews several ex-CIA agents who purportedly took part in secret campaigns against democratic countries and who he claims are profiting from the war in Iraq. He investigates the School of the Americas in the U.S. state of Georgia, where General Pinochets torture squads were reportedly trained along with tyrants and death-squad leaders in Haiti, El Salvador, Brazil and Argentina.

In 1965, president Johnson sent his marines to Dominican Republic, fearing, according to the american goverment, that my country became a second cuban case. The Marines killed over 2000 dominican civilians and military personal and cases of rape and violent attacks within the women population increased dramatically..ohh yeah i forgot to mention they came in "peace", they destroyed families, trippled our international debt and took control of all goverments companies.
« IF CERTAIN ACTS AND VIOLATIONS OF TREATIES ARE CRIMES, THEY ARE CRIMES WHETHER THE UNITED STATES DOES THEM OR WHETHER GERMANY DOES THEM. WE ARE NOT PREPARED TO LAY DOWN A RULE OF CRIMINAL CONDUCT AGAINST OTHERS WHICH WE WOULD NOT BE WILLING TO HAVE INVOKED AGAINST US. » — Justice Robert H. why then do a lot of people from other countries want to come live here? I myself am an immigrant, I love the country I was born in & I'm grateful for the opportunities I have in the US and love this country too. No country or system is perfect. if you're so disgusted with the US, why don't you go live in one of these "brave and free" countries that don't follow the US system? Or if you live there already, what are you doing to change the system? it's easy to be a "freedom fighter" from your pc
There are many reasons why immigrants come to this country. Our free trade policies and IMF loans screw up their countries so they come here. It is better materially to be in the colonizing country and not the colonized. The reason my country is better than yours, so much so that you came here and love it, is the democratic struggle for no child labor, minimum wage, and safety standards. I'd tell you to go back to your country and fight for these rights, but you'd just be killed by US weapons.

Thanks a lot for the help!
