Day 43 (6 weeks and a day after major jaw surgery)
I had my bite splint removed today, got to brush.... several times.... a little sad that I don't have to go back to see the surgeons and staff till my braces are finished, but it's part of the process so I'll be big and deal with it haha
Saw my orthodontist. He replaced the archwires since the surgery ones were cut and covered in surgical hooks, but he's going to wait another 6 weeks till I heal more before making adjustments and repositioning brackets to finish up my treatment.

Hello. Thanks for posting! I am having surgery on Feb 7th. Do you have any liquid recipes to suggest? I know about Carnation Instant Breakfast things like that. I was hoping to puree foods-be creative- to get the calories needed. But my 'creative' side is hinder by fear of the surgery right now. brain not working. Please any suggestions of foods would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! Please respond asap due to surgery date coming up. Thanks Mandy

@noshabkeming Thanks :-) It's difficult but it improves every day. After spending so long with the open bite, then the braces made the open bite worse for surgery to make it better, then the bite splint.... it takes time to adjust to talking with my teeth in the right place and nothing in the way.
