@EdDy4RheelZ Bruce Lee found this idea flawed and modified this and said that you should just keep in mind that the more you attack center of their body, more effective it is but learn ways to hit the center, which requires hooks, uppercuts, bolo punches, etc. He even said that boxers already had centerline theory built in unconsciously in their brain and said that cross punch to person's face is a centerline theory itself.
@paddyandfriends Bruce Lee never relied on WC applications after his fight with Wong Jack Man. He abandoned lot of WC due to its "flowery moves" as he describes and adopted many elements from other arts. For example, look at centerline theory of Wing Chun. In WC, they NEVER tell you to make circular attacks and only attack with straight punches.
@EdDy4RheelZ let me say something here bruce lee never finished wc training coz he never learnt wooden dummy from Yip man and actually the guy below this message bruce lee's martial art relied on wc applications all the time so why would he say wc is crap!!!!!!!
@EdDy4RheelZ Yeah so true, we all like Bruce, hes a legend in the same league as James Dean , Mayriln Monroe ect...& he learned like all hums have done thru out history...you have to actually fight...to learn how to fight...he fought a few times, realised WC is pretty shit, then started evolving into what all great full ontats fighters use, he would have ended up doing the same as what modern MMA guys use & even in JKD now, at Dans LA academy, they use BJJ, kickboxing almost every class
@1fitkbox He was moving away from this as he stepped into the U.S. The time he realized this the most was when he fought against Wong Jack Man and many kung fu sifus in California and beat the shit out of them. He realized that WC techniques were not practical against experienced fighters. To idiots like Wong Shun Leung, WSL would think of this as great accomplishment and calls himself King of Talking Hands. For Bruce Lee, he was embarrassed of this and called it a cat-fight in San Francisco.
During his time, when he was advertising his form of Kung Fu, it wasn't called Jeet Kune Do. It was called Jun Fan Gung Fu to advertise his kwoon. He was berated so much from kung fu masters in California that he had fights with them in order to continue his kwoon. And guess what? He beat the fuck out of every kung fu sifu fucktards that thought he was a disgrace. Of those, biggest one was Wong Jack Man. From Lee's fight with Wong, that's when he realized WC had many leaks and gigantic holes.
