This was the best robot at the sumo robot challenge by far!!!

(If you don't live in Toronto, you might not be aware that the Ontario College of Art and Design's newest building is fugly (at least on the outside... inside is quite nice).

Here's a video of it taken on my digital camera. Two human dancers control the legs on the OCAD building.

Built by some Ryerson students (engineeriing deptartment, I believe), who is OCAD's fiercest rival when it comes to bot building.

  • I was wrong! They were actually New Media students!! I can now finally be proud to say that I am an alumni.

  • will alsop is a hack. toronto is a sucker for buying into that postmodern barf bucket. i hope the gehry AGO addition redeems the area, but somehow i doubt it.

great project in this video btw.

  • oh boy, yeah, those black boxes, the TD towers are definitely "cool".

Also: The inside of the OCAD building is claustrophobic and the placement of windows denies students of seeing what would be a gorgeous view of Grange Park and the rest of the city. BOOOOOOOOOO!

  • lol, really humorous video.. give me a breakl, the OCAD building is not fugly, its the coolest builiding (after the TD towers) in Toronto!
