Railfan Exchange I: Part 23, UP Lawrence Kansas, 6-21-01

I was driving around and saw this glorious summer sunset and decided it would be a perfect background for some trains, especially since there was one coming at the time. I shoot a westbounder then move up the rails to a place I call Pines Junction to get another. As you can see, this is a great place for train watching because not only do they come by often, but you can see them coming for miles.

@bwitz72 I agree that bells need to be ringing as well. It's much more safer that way and cars and people are more likely to stop.

Bells need to be ringing at all times while the signal is activated. I hate crossings where the bell is silenced as soon as the gates are down.
