@hathejoker Running on the Source Engine, TF2 is bound to be very very playable on this laptop. I have played counter strike source and Garrys mod flawlessly with a surplus of 60 frames per second.

@TheOnlyChocomonsta crap I don't have it D: But I have a friend who plays LoL on t he T420 and its sort of a similar game so I'm guessing it runs fine. Don't take my word for it though. If I do get the game in the future I'll make sure to let you know, buddy.

Hello, iPodAppsWeekly. Right now I'm choosing between T420 and Y470 as this Thanksgiving laptop shopping. Does Y470 have better gaming performance for sure? Dispite the difference on video card, I'm told that T420 should have better performance on portability and cooling. Y470 can have a NV 525M and T420 can come with a NV 4000M. I do think 525M is much more powerful. Did you have chance try those two laptops? Thanks!!

@soccer8595 The T420 with a nine cell battery will last you a good ten hours, which should be sufficient for your school day. Note that the T420 is not compatible with any ultrabay battery, so if you need more life than that your only options are multiple batteries or the very expensive slice battery. The T420s is compatible with bay batteries.

Can you make a video playing a 1080p movie, and also doing multi tasking like running firefox with a few tabs and excel. Would love to see how smooth it is and also the quality of the sound from the speakers. Thanks

@cockyt4523 PART 2 of my response lol: Cause if it did sacrifice battery life, i would be happy with the intel hd 3000 because i want the battery to last throughout my school day. What do you think is $764 a good buy for lenovo t420 with i5 and intel hd 3000? what version of the t420 do you have, and most importantly how much battery life do you get on a full charge? @cockyt4523 Thanks for the response! I've been researching laptops for the past 2 weeks, probably like an hour or two a day! There is a 10% sale on t420, and with the i5 the price is $764 and thats with intel hd 3000. the site doesn't even offer the nvidia g-card, and if i found it else where i'm sure the price would be $864 + total. at this point i'm sure i can get a better laptop somewhere else for a much better price. i'm wondering, does a better g-card sacrifice some battery life?

@soccer8595 theres currently i 10% discount on the t420 still . i would go for that anyway its what i chose as after LOADS of research its the best laptop for the money that i could really find. if your going for movies tho i would ensure that you also get the nvidia nvs 4200m gpu :)
