For the first time, professionals are identifying ovarian cancer symptoms and explains what women, and their doctors, should be on the alert for. Your Cancer Today interviews Dr. Barbara Goff, Director of the Gynecologic Cancer Division at the University of Washington. (When detected early, ovarian cancer usually can be cured. Yet most cases are found late, when the 5-year survival rate is only 20-30%).

If you are told you have ovarian cancer, do not go to a regular OB/GYN or regular surgeon for the surgery you will need. Find a GYN Oncologist who specializes in ovarian cancer surgery. They have specialized training to detect and remove this type of cancer, stage the cancer correctly and significantly increase your chances of surviving this horrible disease that non-specialists aren't trained to do. University teaching hospitals are a great place to go for the best surgery and best outcome.

Worried about this, because these symptoms have persisted for a long time now. Ive gone to the E.R. a few times for severe abdominal pain, get full quickly, my belly is always swellon. I'm seeing a surgean now, but I do not trust her, because Ive been given two seperate and conflicting diagnoses...and she called me by the wrong name three times. To top it off I get fatigued sooooo easy, shortness of breath, dizziness, burning up off and on. Too many symptoms. Is a CAT scan better to do?
